CAD Design Engineer Burton on Trent Between £40.00 to £45.00ph 40 Hour Week Monday to Thursday 07:00 – 17.00 & Friday 08:00 – 16:00 Onsite to begin with then flexible working will be possible. Initial 12 Months contract We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer to support the 3D development on a 12-month contract basis. This role focuses on converting existing 2D AutoCAD drawings into 3D SolidWorks models and contributing to the development of new mechanical products. 2D to 3D Conversion & Product Development You\’ll collaborate with their internal design team, suppliers, and occasionally customers to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with welding and assembly parameters. Support the design and development of new components and assemblies. Work with current welding parameters and ensure compliance with DFM/DFMA principles. Liaise with design teams, suppliers, and sometimes customers. See projects through from design to manufacture and assembly. Provide regular updates and reports on progress, challenges, and solutions to senior engineers. The CAD Design Engineer will need to have the following experience: Minimum of 3 – 5 years\’ experience in an engineering product design environment Proficient in SolidWorks – capable of producing detailed components and assemblies.
