Our Publishing Systems Centre of Excellence are recruiting for a Business Analyst to join their Business Analysis function. This is a 12-month fixed-term position covering a period of parental leave that reports into our Publishing Systems Product Manager. As our Business Analyst, you’ll understand the business value of efficient and reliable workflows, processes and system features. You’ll also have a history of managing and satisfying complex requirements in a multi-stakeholder environment. You’ll play a critical role in working and engaging with stakeholders across the business to understand current and future business requirements, supporting the implementation of solutions that will deliver true business value. You’ll strive to capture business requirements and address true business needs across Publishing, Inventory Management and Bibliographic business areas, working with a consultative manner aiming to achieve stakeholder confidence and satisfaction.

The Team Our Publishing Systems team operates as part of a wider Centre of Excellence community within our Technology team, so you’ll become comfortable working with various peers across the division. You’ll assist in identifying opportunities to rationalise and harmonise cross-system integration and interoperability and will be involved with enterprise-wide initiatives where required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with our Product Manager to drive roadmaps for the publishing and content management systems used across Penguin Random House UK
  • Ensure that business requirements are captured, prioritised and analysed
  • Prioritise changes to determine which, and when, to implement - within resource constraints
  • Operate collaboratively with other Centres of Excellence to ensure that cross-system developments and interfaces are correctly specified from a Publishing System user perspective
  • Ensure that “as-is” and “to be” states are clearly documented, understood and communicated
  • Assist the Test and Release function where required to understand and test new developments
  • Build and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders, being comfortable to challenge and influence where required

What You Will Bring:

Essential Criteria:

  • An open and collaborative approach in a One Team environment
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-skilled team through the full systems development life cycle, working successfully with technology teams and in-house stakeholders
  • Experience of writing and managing requirements as user cases or user stories

Preferred Criteria:

  • Experience and working knowledge of frameworks such as Agile or Waterfall

Salary ÂŁ46,000 - ÂŁ55,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
