The CESS and RESCAS Service at Great Ormond Street Hospital is seeking to recruit a Service Coordinator to join the team for a permanent position. The post holder will be responsible for providing high level comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to a team of clinicians and nurses, will need to enjoy a busy and varied workload and have the ability to prioritise their workload effectively. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and EPIC-competent individual to work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team in the CESS and RESCAS service and the Brain directorate. This post will be offered as a permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody to broaden their existing skillset and help shape the future of the department.

Main duties of the job:

  • The Co-ordinator for the Children’s Epilepsy Surgery Service (CESS) and Refractory Epilepsy Specialist Clinical Advisory Service (RESCAS) will be responsible for the co-ordination from enrolment to discharge of patients on the CESS and RESCAS programme as part of a team of Epilepsy Service. This would involve the co-ordination of admissions, outpatient appointments, investigations, and multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Liaison with medical staff, other departments and other hospitals is essential.
  • The post holder will be one of the main points of contact for referring professionals and families.
  • Data input on the local CESS and RESCAS tracker system and updating the information is essential for data outcomes.
  • The post holder will work very closely with the lead epilepsy surgery clinicians and nurses when co-ordinating and liaising with professionals and families.

As a Service Coordinator you should have excellent written and verbal communication; strong administrative and organisational skills, diary management, and minute taking. You should be able to demonstrate that you are a team player but can work independently with minimal supervision. High proficiency in MS Excel is necessary in this role. Person specification:

  • Experience of working as part of a diverse team
