We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Claims Handler to join an established and experienced team of insurance brokers based in their brand new offices in Newbury. This is a permanent, full-time role working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm offering a salary of £25-45k dependent on experience.
As an experienced Commercial Claims Handler, you will be administering clients' insurance requirements daily including general enquiries, renewals, midterm adjustments, obtaining quotations, and accounting procedures. You will be providing advice to new and existing customers regarding their insurance needs and risk management issues.
Main Duties- Arranging and securing appropriate cover for new business and renewals, including recognising and highlighting cross-sell opportunities or uninsured areas, and involving key stakeholders throughout the process.
- Responsible for assigned renewals, MTAs, and quotations in accordance with the company renewal process and placement strategy.
- Understanding clients' risk exposures and insurance needs.
- Dealing with insurers and brokers regarding quotations, policy, and claims queries in accordance with the company’s service level agreements.
- Accurately maintain all records on relevant systems for audit, compliance, and workflow purposes.
- Manage Aged Debtors within the agreed service standards, escalating to key stakeholders where applicable, ensuring the client has the most appropriate method of premium finance available to them.
- Deal with claims according to procedures as they arise and refer to our in-house claims team where specialist knowledge is required.
- Build, manage and maintain relationships with internal and external brokers to deliver strategy and increase opportunities.
- Attend conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and keep up to date with new trends.
- Effectively promote the brand, product range, propositions, and key differentiators to leverage commercial opportunities.
- At least 2 years experience dealing with commercial sized policies (GWP over £40k) in a Claims Handler role or similar.
- Excellent knowledge and experience within the commercial insurance market.
- Minimum Cert CII ideally or willing to work towards this.
- IT Skills required include the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and previous experience of Acturis desired.
