About The Role: As the Trainee CNC Machinist/CNC Operator, you will be trained and responsible in all aspects of CNC cutting using CAD in the specialist cutting department as well as working in the hand cutting department. You will gain artisan skills to prepare different trim packages for the factory. Using hand scissors and Eastman Cutters, you will be working with different materials including vinyl, leather, foam, wadding, piping, and carpet. Working hours are 07:00 - 17:23, Monday to Thursday, and flexible hours can be considered if required.
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Programme, set, and operate CNC machine (Bullmer, Lectra, or Gerber).
- Work with leather and vinyl to deliver quality pieces, ensuring optimum production efficiency and minimum wastage.
- Develop knowledge to identify and implement new processes and machining methods to improve productivity and quality.
- Ensure your area and the wider warehouse remains a clean, tidy, and safe environment to work in.
About You: You will either be looking for your first role or be an experienced CNC Machinist/CNC Operator. Ideally, you will have had experience of working with and using CNC cutting machines in textile, wood, or metal fabrication. Familiarity with using CAD software, ERP or CRM systems, along with proficiency in MS Office will be an advantage. Full on-site and off-site training is also available to suitable candidates. What is essential is that you have an eye for detail and are comfortable working independently and as part of a team. You will have a proactive approach to problem-solving and quality assurance, plus a commitment to safety and excellence in craftsmanship. You will need transport to get to the site in Leiston, Suffolk.
