Under the authority of the Production Manager, the Assistant Production Manager will be responsible for managing operations and personnel for the Sheet and Cutting departments. This is an entry-level position for a manager capable of climbing the ranks. The main functions of this position are:
- Operations Management
- Manage departments to ensure products are manufactured efficiently while meeting deadlines to meet customer requirements;
- Monitor production progress and communicate changes or unforeseen events;
- Track production performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of manufacturing processes;
- Participate in production meetings and closely collaborate with teams to resolve production issues;
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures to guarantee product conformity;
- Apply and promote health and safety standards at work.
- Planning and Strategy
- Contribute to achieving the company's objectives;
- Participate in various optimisation and continuous improvement projects;
- Complete various reports;
- Analyse production capacities and propose improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Human Resources Management
- Mobilise and support teams;
- Address staff needs;
- Follow up on staff requests;
- Oversee employee skills development;
- Conduct evaluations and staff meetings;
- Foster a collaborative and motivating work environment.
The candidate must hold a university degree in engineering or operations management or in any discipline deemed relevant to the position. Experience in a manufacturing company and in management is an asset. The selected candidate must be recognised for their analytical mind, leadership, and organisational skills. They must be able to establish excellent contact across different departments. The selected candidate must have a functional level of English.
A functional level of the English language is required for this position as the selected candidate will need to communicate with suppliers and English-speaking colleagues from group plants in the performance of their duties.
