About the role
Fluency in English, Spanish, and Italian required. As a part of the Shopify Revenue team, the Enterprise Solutions Engineer role brings business value, technical aptitude, product expertise and pre-sales project management. If you are drawn to a constantly innovating product PaaS and to solutioning for technical and business challenges with prospective brands, this job is for you.
Alongside Enterprise sales, the Solutions Engineering team works directly with notable brands and entrepreneurs to develop their commerce strategies, whether that is starting their e-commerce business, building out an omni-channel solution, or leveraging the power of Shopify Payments to scale. This is where you can come in.
As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll drive the technical solutioning for our merchants, build POCs, lead demonstrations and enable our sales and cross-functional teams to show how merchants can accelerate the growth of their business with Shopify for Enterprise.
Requirements for the role:
- 5+ years of experience in pre-sales solutions engineering or consulting
- Strong executive presence, capable of effectively articulating and advocating ideas to key stakeholders, driving consensus, and influencing decision-making processes
- Solid understanding of cloud-based technologies and SaaS fundamentals
- Deep understanding of technical strategy as it relates to operating and growing commerce businesses
- Strong API knowledge (REST and GraphQL) for enterprise integrations
- Great troubleshooting and analytical skills combined with the desire to tackle challenges head-on
- Strong ability to prioritize work in a high velocity environment
- Native or fluent in English, Spanish and Italian
Projects, activities, and expectations of your role include:
- Work to help qualify and close deals from a technical requirements perspective with Sales and development partners/agencies
- Engaging with clients through requirements discovery and strategic consulting sessions
- Creating customized product demos and proof of concepts for use during virtual or on-site client demonstrations
- Act as a SME on projects with cross-functional teams
- Participating in online webinars and in-person events/speaking engagements
- Becoming an expert on Shopify’s application ecosystem and integrations
- Aligning with product and RnD teams on future roadmaps and sharing feedback on released features and client trends
- Mentoring and coaching the sales team on technical aspects of Shopify for Enterprise
Is some of this tech new to you? That’s OK! We know not everyone will come in fully familiar with this stack, and we provide support to learn on the job.
Experience with the Shopify platform, eCommerce experience and knowledge of latest trends (storefront implementation, omni-channel, supply chain, B2B)
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Github)

About Shopify
Opportunity is not evenly distributed. Shopify puts independence within reach for anyone with a dream to start a business. We propel entrepreneurs and enterprises to scale the heights of their potential. Since 2006, we’ve grown to over 8,300 employees and generated over $1 trillion in sales for millions of merchants in 175 countries. This is life-defining work that directly impacts people’s lives as much as it transforms your own. This is putting the power of the few in the hands of the many, is a future with more voices rather than fewer, and is creating more choices instead of an elite option.
About you
Moving at our pace brings a lot of change, complexity, and ambiguity—and a little bit of chaos. Shopifolk thrive on that and are comfortable being uncomfortable. That means Shopify is not the right place for everyone.
Before you apply, consider if you can:
- Care deeply about what you do and about making commerce better for everyone
- Excel by seeking professional and personal hypergrowth
- Keep up with an unrelenting pace (the week, not the quarter)
- Be resilient and resourceful in face of ambiguity and thrive on (rather than endure) change
- Bring critical thought and opinion
- Use AI tools reflexively as part of your fundamental workflow
- Embrace differences and disagreement to get things done and move forward
- Work digital-first for your daily work
