iMultiply are supporting a well-established and values-led organisation based in Edinburgh, to recruit a part-time Management Accountant on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join a collaborative and purpose-driven finance team.

The Role

This role sits within a close-knit and supportive finance function and will play a pivotal role in producing accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. Working closely with the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be involved in day-to-day financial operations and help drive improvements in processes and reporting.

As the Management Accountant, you will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Preparing timely and accurate monthly management accounts, with commentary and analysis
  • Reconciling key balance sheet accounts including cash, prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets
  • Providing expenditure analysis vs. budget/forecast, highlighting variances and contributing to cost control
  • Supporting the annual budget and monthly forecasting process
  • Supervising the Purchase Ledger team (2 assistants) and overseeing supplier payments and reconciliations
  • Managing credit card and expense processing in line with company policy
  • Supporting audit preparation and ensuring compliance with internal controls
  • Contributing to cross-departmental collaboration including onboarding of new suppliers/customers
  • Driving continuous improvement and sharing knowledge within the finance team

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following:

  • Proven experience in a management accounting role, ideally within a commercial environment
  • Strong understanding of core finance processes and reporting requirements
  • Part-qualified, fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/CA), or qualified by experience
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, data analysis functions)
  • Confident communicator - able to explain financial data clearly to non-finance colleagues
  • Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative, with strong organisational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Purchase-to-Pay systems (desirable)

This is a part-time (30 hours per week) permanent role, based in Edinburgh, with hybrid working (1 day per week in the office). The role offers:
