Consultant, Crisis & Continuity Management
Division Consultancy
Line Manager: Principal Consultant
Based Full time in Aberdeen
Purpose of Role:
To work with a team of experienced individuals to provide a range of consultancy, training, exercises and response services to clients globally. As a consultant, you will manage work to be delivered to individual clients, in accordance with the agreed scope, on time, and within budget. By building strong relationship with clients and developing a network, you will expand opportunities with current clients, and develop business with new clients.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
Creating and following up on business opportunities with clients
Undertaking development work from Restrata ’s offices
Delivering work at clients’ offices or facilities
Developing and delivering training courses
Designing and delivering exercises
Reviewing existing client policy, procedures and plans
Producing Emergency Response Plans, Incident Management Plans, and Crisis Management Plans
Being part of the Restrata Incident Management Team on call rota.
Other examples of work include:
Writing and reviewing major accident hazard scenarios
Conducting training needs analysis
Producing and managing training programmes.
The Individual:
The individual will be expected to be technically competent and an effective Consultant, able to demonstrate knowledge of major accident hazards and specialist skills in major emergency management, emergency response, crisis management, media response and relative response.
To this end, the individual should have:
Essential experience:
Experience in designing and delivering Emergency, Incident and Crisis Management exercises
Experience in reviewing Emergency, Incident and Crisis Management plans
Exposure to Emergency, Incident or Crisis Response situations.
Desirable skills and experience:
5 – 10 years’ experience in the field
Preferred Higher Education level – HND / BSc
Previous Energy Sector experience or emergency services ( Environmental background a bonus)
Good initiative and ability to work independently or part of a team
Experience of working on International Projects.
Proven project management and report writing skills
Excellent communications skills and facilitation skills working at all levels.
In addition, the individual should be:
A team player, capable of forward planning or reacting to short timescales,
Excellent verbal / communication & influencing skills
Familiar with key developments in HSE regulations and ER good practice
An experienced and capable user of information technology and common operating environment applications
Progressive with the development of new or innovative methods of service line deliverables.
