Commercial Manager - Nuclear

Founded in the mid-2000s, Vulcain specializes in energy and environment projects. Our expertise in these sectors enables us to support our customers throughout all stages of the engineering-procurement-construction-commissioning (EPCC) project lifecycle.

Role: Commercial Manager

The Commercial Manager is responsible for the financial management of projects, contract negotiations and agreements, and providing project analysis using data related to costs, scheduling, risk, and opportunities for both internal and client projects.

Key Duties:

1. Leading a commercial team of up to ten members.
2. Managing Supply Chain Assistants and supporting procurement during the pre-award phase.
3. Managing contracts during the execution phase to optimize performance and minimize risks.
4. Handling contract final account agreements (close-out).
5. Supporting the Project Manager in contract delivery, ensuring formal completion and recording lessons learned.
6. Ensuring compliance with HPC governance and commercial procedures.
7. Administering commercial management tools such as CEMAR and SAP.

Candidate Profile:

1. Degree in Business Studies, Commercial Management, Economics, or related fields.
2. Chartered status through recognized bodies like ICM.
3. Experience with NEC3 and FIDIC contracts.
4. Experience in procurement, contract performance, risk, change, and claims management.
5. Experience working in high-hazard industries such as Nuclear, Energy, Rail, Oil & Gas, or Aviation.
6. Experience managing major projects (£50m+).

Relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications if deemed appropriate.
