What you'll do
- Design, implement, and maintain the overall structure and operations of the Brookman’s Park lab and its supporting data center.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to resolve lab needs, prioritise resources, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Provide input on budgetary requirements for lab equipment, maintenance, and operational expenses.
- Assist in implementing a range of service methodologies, including incident management, problem management, capacity management, and more.
- Maintain existing co-located and in-house Data Centers.
- Coordinate technical and IT issues on site and provide support.
- Support and maintain lab system access and automation to test various satellite terminals Over the Air and via Satellite Simulator.
- Update lab device and cable management documentation and relevant system databases like Patch Manager.
- Ensure health and safety needs are met for lab tenants and visitors.
- Facilitate and coordinate lab installations, including data center/lab and antenna gantry.
The day-to-day
- Develop and document standard methodologies for lab utilisation, equipment maintenance, data management, and safety, updating tools such as Patch Manager.
- Supervise the acquisition, installation, calibration, and maintenance of RF and network test equipment and data center infrastructure.
- Manage the daily operations of the 60-cabinet data center, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Engage in practical testing and resolve issues related to RF, networking, servers, etc., as needed.
- Conduct audits of lab and storage items.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT, including servers, networking, and lab management.
- Proficient understanding of RF engineering/VSAT principles and practices.
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting switches/routers.
- Ability to develop and implement efficient lab processes.
- Experience with data center operations and management.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Linux OS, VMware, AWS, and automation systems.
- Ability to be onsite at the lab facility.
- UK citizenship or permanent residency.

- Networking experience; Cisco CCNA/CCNP or JUNOS certification is ideal.
