Are you a Fully Qualified Freight Train Driver looking for a Part-Time role, or a Part-Time Driver seeking a change? We have an exciting opportunity for you to work an average of 2 days per week. This includes full-time work during the Autumn and Winter months, with Spring and Summer off! GB Railfreight is a growing and successful business. As we expand geographically and diversify our traffic, we invite fully qualified Freight Train Drivers to register their interest and possibly embark on a new challenge with a profitable, sustainable, and rewarding company.
Responsibilities
- Support GBRf in delivering a safe, reliable, and top-tier service to our customers.
- Liaise with Rail Operators, Signallers, and Contractors to ensure customer requirements are met and trains arrive on time.
Qualifications
- This shift-based role requires a flexible attitude to working hours, averaging 34.5 hours per week.
- Shifts vary to cover 24/7 operations, especially at night, which is typical for freight services.
- Current Freight Train Driving Experience is essential.
- Applicants must have a satisfactory safety record and hold a valid UK driving licence.
- Extensive route and traction knowledge within the local area is desirable.
- Proficient with IT packages such as Word, Outlook, and capable of downloading applications on iPads.
- Safety-conscious with a calm attitude during emergencies.
- Excellent concentration and observational skills.
- Clear, professional communication skills for safety messaging.
- Customer-focused with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Train managers must reside within 45 minutes of their workplace.
