Job Overview
The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at client and associated facilities for the company.
Responsibilities
- Assist Pool Maintenance Specialist in cleaning and maintaining filled pools by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
- Periodically empty pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
- Assist Pool Service Specialist in regularly testing pool water for pH, chlorine, and presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants.
- Receive training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
- Calculate and add chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
- Inspect pool and equipment.
- Assist Pool Service Specialist in completing and maintaining daily logs of chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Understanding of pool cleaning chemicals and equipment related to swimming pools.
- Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment.
- Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of related experience required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
- Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping.
- Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.
