Position Purpose
The Controls Integrator is responsible for integrating multiple project elements into a cohesive system. This role plays a critical part in all project lifecycle stages, ensuring smooth factory and site acceptance testing, and ultimately delivering high-quality systems before handover to clients. The integrator operates at the intersection of technology and art, helping to create world-class shows and spectacles.
Responsibilities
- Test, configure, and prepare equipment for onsite use.
- Assist with controls system commissioning.
- Lead controls/electrical maintenance and site works when needed.
- Inspect client sites, diagnose controls/electrical issues, implement solutions within budget, and adhere to TAIT standards.
- Ensure the safe installation of lifting systems.
- Prepare technical and inspection documentation.
- Maintain and update all reports, documentation, and work tickets accurately.
- Travel at short notice to client sites, possibly internationally, to support projects.
- Assist with specifying and planning work, including basic electrical design.
- Participate in control system commissioning and issue resolution.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing by creating learning materials and manuals.
- Coordinate with project teams for successful project handover.
- Integrate disparate project elements into a cohesive whole.
- Communicate regularly with project teams about tasks and risks.
- Implement technology onsite as part of the field engineering and installation team.
- Perform shop testing and setup, especially for complex components.
- Maintain a basic understanding of all integration-related technical fields and develop expertise in one or more areas.
- Support internal standards and processes.
- Participate actively in the global integration team and collaborate across departments to ensure operational success and business growth.
- Engage diplomatically to improve operations, streamline processes, and deliver excellent customer service.
- Build and maintain good relationships with clients, stagehands, electricians, project managers, and other personnel.
- Follow TAIT Health & Safety and Integration policies and procedures.
Knowledge Required
- Experience with complex entertainment automation machinery.
- Understanding of entertainment/industrial automation technology and equipment.
- Working knowledge of PLC programming and control theory.
- Knowledge of entertainment rigging and components.
- Ability to diagnose and analyze equipment failures.
