The Senior Reporting Accountant will play a key role in the external reporting processes for the Group. Reporting to the Head of External Reporting, key responsibilities include group consolidation, preparing statutory financial statements for group subsidiaries, managing internal and external stakeholders for the year-end audit, and preparing technical accounting papers. The role is vital to ensure that statutory reporting deadlines are met and the year-end audit plan runs effectively.

Your core responsibilities:

  • Perform the group consolidation and produce consolidated financial statements at year-end.
  • Produce technical accounting papers to support complex technical judgments, including management papers for the year-end audit.
  • Liaise with divisional finance teams to resolve accounting queries.
  • Manage external auditors to ensure a smooth year-end audit process.
  • Assist with implementing new accounting standards, ensuring IFRS compliance.
  • Maintain the Group Accounting Manual, ensuring all accounting policies are reflected throughout the group’s reporting.
  • Support ongoing entity rationalization projects to simplify the group structure.
  • Prepare subsidiary financial statements, ensuring compliance with Companies Act 2006 and relevant accounting standards (UK GAAP).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Recognized accountancy qualification (ACA or ACCA).
  • Recent experience in auditing or preparing financial statements for a large group.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
