We are seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the localization industry to lead the development and deployment of commercial and digital translation services within the life sciences sector. This role focuses on designing and implementing scalable, high-quality solutions to support global teams and ensure seamless multilingual content delivery. As a consultant to internal teams and clients, the SME will provide best practices for multilingual content strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Translation Services Setup and Commercial Solutions Development
- Design and implement Commercial and Digital Localization workflows tailored to the unique needs of life sciences content.
- Evaluate and select appropriate translation management systems (TMS), CAT tools, and AI-driven technologies to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Create and deliver localization solutions that integrate with life sciences commercial initiatives, such as product launches, educational programs, and customer-facing platforms.
- Optimize processes for translating materials such as product documentation, training modules, and marketing collateral.
- Ensure that all translation services align with business objectives and drive measurable impact.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with global teams to identify translation and localization needs across various departments, including global patient services, regulatory, medical affairs, and commercial.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on best practices, tools, and industry trends in digital translation services.
- Onboard and deliver training and support to internal teams on leveraging translation technologies effectively.
- Project & Vendor Management
- Oversee the end-to-end management of translation projects, ensuring adherence to quality, timelines, and budget.
- Collaborate with language service providers (LSPs) and vendors to maintain consistency, quality, and scalability of services.
- Work with Quality to adapt the QMS and monitor KPIs to assess the performance of translation services and drive continuous improvement.
- Technology & Process Optimization
- Leverage advanced technologies, including machine translation and AI, to enhance translation workflows and reduce time-to-market.
- Continuously review and improve localization processes to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Stay informed about emerging tools, technologies, and trends in the localization and life sciences industries.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Develop and enforce quality standards for translated materials to ensure alignment with life sciences industry requirements.
- Monitor compliance with global regulations and guidelines, particularly for highly regulated content.
- Create SOPs, Work Instructions, Workflows, Training Manuals, Terms & Conditions, Supplier OLAs, client-facing materials, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working in Digital Translations Project Management within the Language Services industry, with at least 2 additional years' experience in Client Services across various sectors.
- Proven expertise in setting up and managing digital translation services or workflows involving Transcreation, Creative Translation, Brochures, Marketing Campaigns, Social Media, SEO (keywords, banners, ads), websites.

- Strong understanding of translation tools, workflows, and best practices (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, TMS).
- Experience in developing and managing client accounts.
- Experience presenting to clients, supporting the onboarding of new clients, and devising tailored client solutions.
- Advanced client management skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Ability to create detailed SOPs, processes, and workflows for digital health solutions.
- Capability to provide training and support to the project management team.
- Ability to maintain a project pipeline to support resourcing efforts.
