Trainee Full Colour Coach

Main Duties:

As a Trainee Full Colour Coach, you will shadow current coaching programmes and projects in order to build your capacity to become responsible for the ongoing coordination of service delivery in and around Huntly surrounding areas, or for a specific programme or project.

The role is for on day, 7 hours a week, and hourly rate £15. Fixed term for 12 months.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Programme Delivery

· Shadow current coaching programmes and projects one day a week to build knowledge and confidence.

· Complete the Level 1 Coach Training programme, the Positive Education certificate and any other relevant training and supervisions to develop own skills.

· Deliver 1-1 coaching to students, either in person at local schools, or virtually online.

· Support your allocated 1-1 students to identify their personal strengths and set goals through a series of sessions, using coaching skills and positive psychology interventions.

· Deliver group coaching sessions to 4-6 students across a 6 week block. Sessions will include a range of fun activities, coaching tools and positive psychology interventions.

· Support young people to relieve worry and stress by providing empathy, supportive reassurance, and time for them.

· Support young people to improve their own physical and mental wellbeing.

· To provide flexible support based on individual need and preferences, enabling individuals to make informed choices and decisions.

· Communicate with your Programme Manager throughout the programme regarding student engagement and progress, including writing brief session records for each student.

· Engaging with Full Colour Coaching’s evaluation procedures, including writing end of programme notes on students and gather feedback on the programme from students, staff and/or parents.

· Responsible for planning and delivering trips, outings and experiences with young people.

· Responsible for leading local pop up events to reach and recruit more schools and young people to benefit from our services.

· Able to work occasional evenings to support activities and programmes in ‘The Shed’ alongside Castle Street Coffee CIC.

Partnerships

· Responsible for working with local primary and secondary schools.

· Responsible for ensuring collaborative work with local youth work providers, clubs, and other organisations to create pathways and cross referral work.

· Responsible for identifying additional opportunities for collaborative working with local partners.

· To maintain and develop professional links with all relevant external agencies, enabling effective signposting.

· Track partnerships on CRM system

Person Specification: Trainee Full Colour Coach

Education:

· Educated to HND level or hold an SCQF Level 6 qualification in youth work.

· Experience working with young people from a range of backgrounds, age groups, and in different settings.

Experience

· Have a passion to work with young people, improving their wellbeing and mental health using preventative and pro-active, solution focused approaches

· Current proven experience of working with young people with mental health and wellbeing needs in a one to one setting.

· Knowledge and understanding of the challenges and barriers young people face in society today, including an understanding of ACE’s and a trauma informed approach

· Practical skills in working with young people, including games, physical activity, creative arts and life skills/employability

· Understanding of safeguarding issues and procedures, risk management, and health and safety

· Experience of organising and supporting youth events

· An approachable individual with the ability to engage and inspire young people

· Passion for social impact and commitment to advancing the wellbeing of young people

· Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and ownership
