A Little More About Your Role… As a Geospatial Consultant at WSP, you will play a pivotal role in supporting multi-disciplinary projects across Water, Energy, Earth, and Environment. You will join a growing team of geospatial professionals committed to driving digital transformation and advancing our geospatial capabilities. In this role, you will provide digital support to a wide range of projects, including those focused on climate change, renewable energy generation, transmission and distribution, resilient infrastructure, and water management. A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality are essential. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will prepare and manage digital data from various sources, conduct spatial analysis, and produce intuitive web applications and supporting figures. You will play a key role in delivering project-related tasks, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard, consistently exceeding client expectations. You will also contribute to promoting our geospatial services, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities Will Include…

  • Support multi-disciplinary projects with GIS mapping, analysis, geoprocessing, and data capture/management using ArcGIS Pro and ETL tools.
  • Facilitate digital project delivery through web GIS platforms and applications, leveraging the capabilities of ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Manage and ensure the quality of data capture both in-house and via third parties, including designing local and enterprise geodatabases.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with established standards, scope, and budget, maintaining high-quality outputs and client satisfaction.
  • Engage with internal and external clients to understand their needs and provide tailored geospatial solutions.
  • Contribute to the technical development of the GIS team through sharing ideas, innovations, and lessons learned.
  • Assist in developing efficient working practices to provide industry-leading, best-value services to clients.
  • Provide GIS support to all areas of the business as required.
  • Undertake continuous professional development to stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
  • Occasionally travel to other offices for business development and project meetings.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…

  • Core principles of GIS and GI data management and an ability to apply them across various sectors.
  • Understanding the DCO process and how GIS facilitates digital delivery of components like EIA, routing and siting, and screening and scoping.
  • Proven desktop and web GIS experience, including Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and Mobile Apps, Configuration of ArcGIS web applications, such as Experience Builder, Dashboards, 3D scenes, Survey123, and Field Maps.
  • Experience in at least one of the following: Arcade, Python, JavaScript, or FME.
  • Strong data management skills, with an understanding of relational databases and File Geodatabases, with the ability to deploy and manage these effectively.
  • Customer focussed approach to quality and service, with the ability to identify value-add opportunities by integrating GIS.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to developing new skills and keeping up to date with technology.
