BluePearl Pet Hospital in Malvern, PA, is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. Do you thrive in a fast-paced, learning environment? Are you passionate about emergency cases and providing care and comfort to critically ill or injured patients? Are you committed to enriching lives through remarkable pet care? As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
- Triage emergency cases upon arrival, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
- Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
- Understand normal ranges of vital signs and alert veterinarians to any abnormalities.
- Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR if needed.
- Calculate medical dosages accurately and administer medications appropriately.
- Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
- Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
- Mentor and train colleagues.
- Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
