Senior Platform Engineer

Senior Platform Engineer role at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence. Location: UK, Manchester with hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Responsiblities / What We Are Looking For

We are looking for experienced Platform Engineers to join our team following continuous growth in the UK Government sector. Our people are resourceful, innovative and dedicated, with a mix of generalists and specialists. We value diverse backgrounds to deliver high-quality, cutting-edge solutions.

• Programming in one or more of JavaScript, Java, .Net, Python
• Collaboratively designing and building Proof of Concept or Production systems
• Source control with Version Control Systems (e.g., Git, Mercurial, Perforce)
• Using CI/CD tools (e.g., Bamboo, Jenkins, TeamCity, Bitbucket) to streamline delivery
• Continual testing with Automated Testing Frameworks
• Maintaining code quality with static code analysis tools (e.g., SonarQube)
• Working in an agile environment (e.g., Scrum, Lean, Kanban)
• Common software design patterns
• Applying creativity and prior experience to solve client challenges

Desirable (not required): experience with Machine Learning software, cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and various databases. Training and support will be provided where needed.
