The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with a background in regulatory compliance within the legal environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide guidance to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and deputies. Support the MLRO in maintaining and updating AML frameworks. Review LSAG action plan and the firm’s AML Risk Assessment regularly. Support the Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) to ensure adherence to SRA regulations. Investigate non-compliance issues and assess their impact. Draft, review, and update compliance and risk management policies. Ensure compliance with SRA price transparency requirements. Oversee client onboarding for compliance with due diligence protocols. Provide guidance on data protection and GDPR compliance. Work with COFA and Finance to ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules. Communicate risk areas to the Finance Director and suggest mitigation actions. Coordinate regulatory submissions with departments. Review firm policies regularly to keep them current. Assist fee earners with client and matter risk assessments per LSAG guidelines. Mentor junior lawyers in compliance matters.
