This role will lead to implementing our diversity, inclusion and belonging (DI&B) roadmap and building out learning and development pathways for our people. In addition, as part of a small team, you will bring generalist HR experience and contribute to delivering the wider objectives for the People Team as a whole. We’re looking for someone who brings a passion for building inclusive systems that support everyone to thrive, uses data-driven insights to inform decisions and measure impact, engages and aligns effectively with stakeholders and gets things done in a busy team.

What we are looking for:

  • DI&B Delivery: Lead the implementation of the agreed Somerset House Trust DI&B roadmap, ensuring strategic goals are met. Establish a framework for our DI&B values, ensuring they are integrated into all aspects of the organisation.
  • Learning and Development: Oversee the development of focus groups, ensuring they are aligned with the Trust’s DI&B strategy. Deliver, evaluate and support the design of DI&B training programs, including workshops, e-learning modules, and facilitated discussions. Champion our new learning platform to cultivate a learning culture by effectively managing and promoting its usage.
  • General HR Responsibilities: Facilitate the resolution of employee relations, ensuring alignment with Trust policies and fostering a supportive workplace environment. Support line managers across recruitment, onboarding, performance and pay. Be a trusted first point of contact for HR queries.
  • Ways of working: Analyse DI&B-related data to track progress, measure impact, and identify areas for improvement. Develop dashboards and reports for leadership, highlighting key DI&B metrics and trends. Influence and engage stakeholders at all levels to gain buy-in and support for DI&B initiatives.

Skills, knowledge & expertise required for the role:

  • Experience: Strong HR generalist – Ideally Level 5 CIPD. Experience as a Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Lead working with focus groups, employee engagement initiatives, and delivering change.
  • Skills: A clear understanding of the broad DI&B agenda within and beyond the creative sector and its impact on the workforce, workplace, visitors and community and an ability to promote this to others, staying informed of the latest developments. Ability to build relationships to achieve required outcomes and make recommendations. Curious and proactive with a commitment to continuous improvement. Effective engagement and presentation skills. Strong Project Management skills.
