We have an exciting opportunity for a senior Biomedical Scientist (Microbiology-Virology) to join our Pathology team on a 7 month FTC. This role is based in our Pathology Department in Central London (W1G). We are also offering a competitive salary starting from £37,959 up to £47,648 per annum plus a fantastic array of benefits.

The Biomedical Scientist position is to supervise technical and scientific work in the laboratory under the direction of the Chief/Senior Biomedical Scientist or Consultant.
Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week. Salary: between £37,959-£47,648 per annum. Location: 116 Harley Street W1G.

Key Duties:
- Undertake routine and specialist laboratory techniques in line with department standard operating procedures.
- Record information on the Pathology laboratory information system and ensure it complies with governance requirements at all times.
- Assess, initiate and monitor appropriate action when a situation may compromise service delivery and escalate as necessary.
- Be aware of the processes for escalation of laboratory issues.
- Undertake technical validation and authorisation of results from laboratory investigations as specified by laboratory guidelines and policies.
- Communicate results as appropriate.
- Liaise with all grades of biomedical scientists, TLC staff and other users to ensure optimal service delivery.
Skills & Experience:
- Current state registration as a Biomedical Scientist in the UK (HCPC).
- BSc Biomedical Science or equivalent.
- Completion of specialist training or equivalent experience (more than 2 years) in the UK.
- Understanding of quality assurance procedures in accordance with UKAS standards.
