Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri)

Environmental Conditions: Laboratory Setting, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

How will you make an impact?

  • Analyse raw materials and other samples using approved analytical methods.
  • Assist in the investigation of problems relating to the quality of materials.
  • Sample incoming raw materials for the QC laboratory according to Thermo Fisher procedures.

What will you do?

  • Analyse materials to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Prioritise your personal allocation of work to reflect the business priorities.
  • Develop and approve methods if no approved method exists.
  • Calibrate analytical instruments as needed, following quality system methods and work instructions.
  • Work according to the requirements of quality systems, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Raise issues and highlight actions being taken to address analytical problems that might delay material approval.
  • Identify quality issues and use problem-solving skills to investigate.
  • Achieve required standards of precision and accuracy while meeting department target times.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all work and observations per the appropriate quality system.
  • Update the Laboratory Information Management System to ensure timely release of quarantined materials.
  • Maintain instruments in good order, report defects, and perform repairs as advised.
  • Write procedures and carry out assessments as the need arises.
  • Work safely, adhering to company EHS policies and prescribed safety instructions.
  • Conduct departmental safety audits on a rota basis.
  • Maintain clean, tidy, and safe work areas.
  • Handle chemicals safely and report any unsafe procedures, practices, or incidents.
  • Ensure waste disposal follows agreed protocols.

Experience:

  • Analytical Chemistry degree.
  • Experience working in a lab environment.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • ICP experience preferred.
