Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Engineering Manager/Workshop Manager at our Chichester Depot to support our fleet maintenance function across our South depots. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will ensure that daily service targets are met, and all maintenance tasks are completed to exacting standards. Through first-line supervision, you will control daily workshop loading, monitor H&S practices and ensure buses are in top condition for our customers.
You will communicate targets and action plans to staff each day via briefing sessions with the emphasis on improved reliability. A firm technical knowledge is key, as you will be first port of call to assist our teams diagnosing and rectifying complex issues. You will also be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of this busy depot location; ensuring premises are secure, clean and safe for staff and visitors.
The role demands someone with energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to motivate staff to meet the targets and the high standards we set for the maintenance and cleaning of our buses and to ensure that they are available for the deadlines required for the daily operation of our bus services. You should possess an appropriate professional engineering qualification, have an eye for detail and have a passion for continuous improvement.
