At Crownfield Junior, we believe in working as a team for the children that we are responsible for and care for. We believe that our children are at the centre of all we do and we encourage and support them to be the best that they can be. We treat the children as individuals and understand that their needs are unique to them.

We are looking for someone to join our ever-growing Support Team. We would like to appoint an enthusiastic, pro-active, organised person who has experience in supporting students with particular learning, behavioural and social/emotional needs, to enable them to fulfil their full potential within our school environment. Previous experience of working with young children, preferably KS2, is essential as is a good standard of Literacy and Numeracy.

Our Ofsted Report in July 2023 stated: 'Pupils at this school are kind, polite and hard-working. In lessons they listen to their teachers and to each other.' 'Pupils with SEND are quickly identified and are very well supported to study the same broad curriculum as their classmates. Teachers and leaders work together to identify strategies that best meet these pupils’ needs.' 'Staff feel well-supported by leaders.'

We are lucky to be set in beautiful grounds. Our children are great to work with: polite, enthusiastic, hard working with a sense of fun! We have a very stable staff who work together for the good of the children – they have a sense of humour too! We are a four-form entry school. The LSA would work under the direction of the Senior Management Team and the SENCo. At all times, the LSA will work within a Year Group as a part of their support team and plan alongside them, reporting to the Head of Year on an agreed system of supervision and management.

Please E-mail us at head@crownfieldjunior.co.uk if you need further information or a tour around the school. You may also wish to look at our website. Interviews may include a task. Please apply online. Closing Date: Wednesday 25th June 2025.

Safeguarding

Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance. It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.

Equal Opportunities

Havering Schools aim to promote and ensure equality of opportunity and equal treatment for all. We are committed to equal opportunities in employment regardless of gender, marital status, race, colour, nationality (including citizenship), ethnic or national origins, disabilities, age, sexual orientation, responsibility for dependants, religious or political affiliation and trade union activities. All matters related to employment are decided on the basis of qualifications, merit and business need.
