About The Team
The team is led by the Director, Government Convening and is comprised of a senior manager, a manager, and 2-5 coordinators, working closely with operations, content, marketing and regional teams. Our flagship event is the Ministerial Programme at MWC Barcelona, which brings together the most influential telecommunications leaders from across the world. Convening industry CEOs, ministers, telecom regulators, data protection authorities, and senior representatives of intergovernmental organisations. The team also manages the government attendance at the GSMA M360 Series of events, MWC Shanghai and the Ministerial Programmes at MWC Kigali and MWC Doha.
About The Role
You will engage closely with external and internal stakeholders, coordinating all aspects of attendance of government and inter-government representatives at the GSMA Ministerial Programmes, with a focus on supporting delegations from the Americas. Key responsibilities will include database collection and management, invitation process and follow up, onsite logistics, Embassy involvement and pass registration. You will be responsible for ad-hoc translation of documents and logistical information from English to Spanish and vice versa. Potential onsite support in Barcelona to deliver the event is typically one week but will be dependent on team needs.
About You
You must be fluent in both Spanish and English and feel comfortable speaking over the phone and reading and writing correspondence in Spanish. You are self-motivated and committed, able to work autonomously as well as being a strong team player. You have excellent personal organisation, prioritisation, and workload management skills. Your attention to detail is exceptional and you can track changes and predict their subsequent implications. You also have solid data processing experience and a high-level technical competence in standard Microsoft Office products. You may have knowledge in dealing with government delegations, experience working with CRM software and database management, and professional translation experience. You may have worked in an international environment before and are willing to travel internationally.
