The Role
- Offer tailored, person centred support to learners with SEND, adapting teaching strategies and reasonable adjustments so students can fully access their programmes.
- Deliver discreet support in the classroom, nurturing confidence, independence and a positive "can do" attitude.
- Assist the SENCo and Learning Support team with EHCP reviews, inclusive learning planning, and online pupil tracking to inform progress and intervention.
- Utilise ICT and assistive technologies to enhance communication and learning for students with diverse needs.
- Participate in enrichment activities and wellbeing initiatives that support learners' emotional development and prepare them for employment, independent living, or higher study.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with learners aged 16+ with SEND-ideally in a post 16, vocational or further education setting.
- A person centred approach, patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills.
- Competent use of ICT and assistive learning tools.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion, social mobility, and safeguarding in line with college values.
- Level 2/3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent.
