Head of Technical Operations

JOB – Head of Technical Operations\\nLOCATION – Oxford\\nTERM – Permanent\\nSALARY – £60,000 to £70,000 per annum (plus benefits)\\n\\n Premier Engineering is working with an innovative technology company based in Oxford, currently seeking a Head of Technical Operations. This is a key leadership role for an experienced technical professional to oversee and drive all aspects of operations, development, and support across their growing product range.\\n\\n Key Responsibilities:\\n\\nLead the manufacturing team to ensure optimal stock levels, timely instrument builds, and effective quality control procedures\\n\\nGuide the multi-disciplinary technical team (including mechanical design, electronics, software, and microfluidics), contributing hands-on technical expertise while fostering a collaborative and innovative culture\\n\\nOversee field servicing of instruments, ensuring service engineers are fully supported and customer satisfaction is maintained\\n\\nWork closely with biology, sales, and customer support teams to ensure alignment across departments and successful product delivery\\n\\nTake ownership of continuous improvement initiatives in technical operations and development processes\\n\\nThe ideal candidate will have:\\n\\nProven leadership experience within a technical or engineering operations role\\n\\nA background in product development and manufacturing in a high-tech or scientific environment\\n\\nStrong technical expertise in at least one of the following areas: mechanical engineering, electronics, embedded systems, or instrumentation\\n\\nExcellent team management, problem-solving, and communication skills\\n\\nA collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, small company environment\\n\\nIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible, along with your availability and salary expectations
