We are a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor based in the South East, delivering a wide range of infrastructure, groundworks, and civil engineering projects across the region. With a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for quality and reliability, we are looking to strengthen our commercial team with the addition of an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
The Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in delivering high-profile civil engineering projects. You'll work closely with Senior QSs, Project Managers, and site teams, gaining hands-on experience across all commercial functions of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly valuations and cost reports
- Supporting the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Measuring and valuing works on site
- Assisting with change management and variations
- Helping manage project budgets and costs against forecasts
- Ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within civil engineering, groundworks, or infrastructure
- A relevant degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or similar (preferred but not essential)
- A good understanding of NEC or JCT forms of contract
- Strong numeracy and communication skills
- A proactive, team-focused approach with a desire to learn and grow
