Role Summary:
Our client is seeking a skilled Operations Planner & Relief Van Driver to join their team based in Exeter. This hybrid role involves coordinating fleet and driver activities to ensure efficient freight movement across the region, along with occasional shifts as a Relief Van Driver for nationwide deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently handle inbound telephone calls and client instructions.
- Accurately record and process client requirements using the data management system.
- Maintain high levels of customer service and ensure timely responses.
- Manage Independent Service Providers and company vehicles for optimal utilisation.
- Perform van driving duties including loading/unloading, securing loads, and timely deliveries.
- Complete vehicle checks, minor repairs, and report mechanical issues.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Aviation Security standards.
- Build strong relationships with clients, team members, and managers.
- Support the Depot Supervisor/Manager in achieving operational goals.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 yearsβ experience in Transport Operations.
- Capable of delivering departmental inductions.
- Level D Aviation Security and Hazardous Awareness (preferred).
- Strong communication skills β verbal and written.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
