Job title: Mechanical Design Engineer (Intermediate to Senior considered)\\n\\nLocation: Greater Southampton (Full-time office-based with ad hoc WFH flexibility)\\n\\nSalary: £40,000 to £45,000 Intermediate, up to £60,000 for Senior\\n\\nMy client, a nationally respected building services consultancy, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in the Greater Southampton area. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects with a strong focus on decarbonisation and sustainability.\\n\\nAbout the Role:The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects across a variety of sectors. Current and upcoming projects include:\\n\\nDecarbonisation schemes for hospitals and public sector estates\\nNew-build educational facilities\\nHealthcare infrastructure upgradesThis role is ideally suited to an Intermediate to Senior level Mechanical Engineer with a passion for sustainable design and a desire to work on technically challenging and meaningful projects.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\nDesign of mechanical systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, and ventilation\\nProduction of detailed design drawings and specifications\\nCollaboration with electrical engineers and other disciplines\\nSite visits, surveys, and client meetings\\nSupporting junior engineers and contributing to technical developmentRequirements:\\n\\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)\\nProven experience in mechanical design within a consultancy environment\\nStrong understanding of UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines\\nProficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES or similar\\nExcellent communication and teamwork skillsTerms / benefits: \\n\\nCompetitive salary up to £60,000 (DOE)\\nFull-time office-based role with occasional WFH flexibility\\nFree parking / good local public transport links \\nCore hours 09:30-4pm\\n25 days annual leave, rising to 30 days\\nMemberships paid for and supported \\nOpportunity to work on high-impact decarbonisation projects\\nSupportive and collaborative team environment\\nClear progression pathway and technical developmentNext steps: For more information, please apply via this advert or contact Daniel Baker on (phone number removed).
