Gap personnel are proud to be working together with a largest global manufacturer of Lead-Acid and Lithium-ion batteries based in Swindon, who are currently looking for Warehouse Supervisor to support busy Manufacturing company.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process picking lists released in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Supervise and lead a team of warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Assign and monitor workloads within the team to meet daily targets.
- Troubleshoot issues with warehouse automation systems (training provided).
- Identify and resolve general issues with the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and handheld scanners.
- Record output activities and quantities for management reporting.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the warehouse.
- Act as Fire Marshal and First Aider for the designated area.
- Record and report incidents to management, including health & safety, disciplinary, and grievance matters.
- Ensure team compliance with ISO 9001 standards and company health & safety policies.
- Manage in-house consumables, ensuring timely ordering and accurate receipting.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for warehouse operatives.
- Handle People HR administration, including absence documentation, holiday requests, and form submissions.
- Accurately report overtime and agency staff hours to the department manager.
- Review and organize shift patterns and staffing levels in line with business needs.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Excellent written communication and numeracy skills.
- Quick to absorb and retain product-specific knowledge.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven supervisory or team management experience.
- Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business software.
- Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Solid understanding of warehouse protocols and health & safety best practices.
- MHE (Material Handling Equipment) trained – preferred but not essential (in-house training available).
