The purpose of our Logistics/Porter is to work within BT's newer building and be responsible for managing the flow of goods and items into, around and out of the building on behalf of the FM team. This includes controlling the loading bay booking system, waste management, supporting the back of house teams and any events going on in the building.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
- Moving plants, equipment, furniture, deliveries, and materials around site efficiently as required by the facilities team workstreams (e.g. security, material delivery, waste management strategy, cleaning, catering, and post).
- Support the planning of events logistics including loading and unloading of equipment and supporting the move around the building to the correct space, including signing in events contractors.
- Support with the launch, use and training of the loading bay management system.
- Responsible for all traffic management internally and externally and loading bay cleanliness as well as reporting and managing issues or breakdowns of equipment in the area.
- Plan and integrate with key contractors to meet the needs of the planned programme and deconfliction of onsite space and time where appropriate.
- Support in the evaluation of appropriate delivery management booking systems.
- Support the management of subcontractors to deliver their package of goods or services.
- Support sustainability through clear and concise management on site of all waste movements and supporting with recycling initiatives.
- Undertake the Control of Works Authorised Person (AP) role and support identification of other relevant APs and Competent Persons (CPs) in cluster.
- Manage the waste service provider and look to improve on service delivery working with all Facilities teams across site.
