Excellent career opportunity available for a proven senior production DBA to assist a FTSE 100 client manage, administer and enhance their Database estate. The job will involve production database administration for 100+ databases, as part of a team, within a fast pace 24×7 financial services environment and will allow the selected candidate to get heavily involved in large scale project work, in addition to providing exemplary BAU support on both Oracle & SQL Databases.
Suited candidates must have strong experience of problem solving and troubleshooting within production 24×7 environment. You are likely to have a very board technical background – high availability database builds, patching, migrations, performance tuning and upgrades, DR methods, Oracle RAC, Oracle Restart and SQL Server Always on High Availability. You will also have strong Linux, AIX and Solaris experience.
As a Senior DBA this career opportunity will give you scope to help influence best practice processes in managing the database estate, empowering you to provide technical decisions, working with the management team to provide thought leadership on ideas/innovative solutions for the database estate.
This job could suit a Senior DBA that has successfully worked for another large Financial Services organisation, managing both Oracle & SQL Server production databases in recent years, but is now want try take lesson learnt and implement some of this practices into a new organisation.
