Premier Engineering is working with a well-established civil engineering consultancy based in Derby, currently seeking a Director to join and lead their growing team. This is a strategic leadership role requiring technical expertise, project oversight, and business development capability within the civil and structural engineering space.
You Will Need:
- Minimum 2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
- At least 10 yearsβ post-qualification experience in civil engineering
- Chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g. MICE)
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading high-quality concept, preliminary and detailed designs for highways and drainage projects
- Performing drainage calculations: QBar, attenuation, soakaways, foul loads, pipeline capacities, and network analysis
- Designing adoptable and non-adoptable roads, driveways, car parks and footpaths for a range of surfaces
- Overseeing Developer Enquiries, Environment Agency and LLFA information requests
- Managing S104, S106, S185, S184, S278 and S38 applications and submissions
- Producing technical reports such as Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments, and Drainage Strategy Reports
- Ensuring project delivery within agreed budgets and timelines
- Overseeing and supporting sustainability assessments and performance criteria
- Line management of both senior and junior engineers
- Supervising CAD/Revit technicians and conducting QA checks
- Fulfilling duties under CDM Regulations
- Leading client relationships, marketing, and business development efforts
