Contract Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer – Rail Projects (Central London)

Location: Central London

Rate: £375 per day + Night Rate Uplift

Schedule: Predominantly Night Shifts

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer to join a contract team delivering key rail infrastructure projects across Central London. This role focuses on the commissioning of Notifier (Honeywell) fire alarm systems across various transport-related environments such as stations and concourses, with a strong emphasis on night shift work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning of fire alarm systems, primarily using Notifier (Honeywell) panels
  • Working on a variety of rail sites, including stations, platforms, and concourses
  • Programming, testing, and verifying system functionality to the required standards
  • Completing accurate commissioning documentation and handover packs
  • Ensuring full compliance with BS 5839 and rail safety protocols
  • Collaborating with project teams, safety managers, and site supervisors

Requirements:

  • Proven commissioning experience with Notifier systems (e.g., ID3000, Pearl)
  • Previous work on rail or large infrastructure projects
  • Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) card – Essential
  • Comfortable working night shifts in live operational environments
  • Strong documentation, fault-finding, and communication skills
  • ECS card and relevant fire alarm qualifications (FIA units preferred)
