We are seeking to appoint a confident Senior HR Advisor with solid “hands on” experience to work within a supportive People Partnering Team on a permanent basis. You will be required to deliver expert guidance, advice and guidance to managers on a range of ER matters and effectively coach and train staff where appropriate. You will be suitably qualified possessing your Associate membership of the CIPD and have experience in an operational role within an HR department, providing a comprehensive advisory service to multidisciplinary teams with extensive experience of complex casework management.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to build and maintain strong working relationships. As part of the Trust's commitment to flexible working, there will be some opportunity to work from home and in the office on a rota basis, this would be reviewed regularly in line with service requirements.

Main duties of the job: The role will be based within Airedale’s People Partnering Team, which is a professional and highly regarded team, leading on the strategic and operational implementation of the Trust’s People Strategy and NHS People Plan. The role will report into our ER Manager who reports to the Business Partners who are aligned to an operational division of the Trust, the alignment for each role will be determined following the interview stage of the recruitment process.

To be successful you will need to have specialist knowledge in employment law and advise on complex employee relations matters, both clinical and non-clinical. You will be suitably qualified possessing your Associate membership of the CIPD with relevant and proven experience in the HR field with extensive experience of complex casework management.

  • Qualifications
  • Essential criteria: Degree level qualification or equivalent; Educated to post graduate diploma level in a relevant subject or equivalent additional experience at senior advisory level; Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) through intermediate study (at level 5 or higher), or significant progress towards completion, or significant experience at senior advisory level; Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Desirable criteria: Knowledge / formal training in Agenda for Change Job Matching / evaluation.
  • Experience
    • Essential criteria: Significant working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice; Effective management of a complex caseload including keeping accurate records and ensuring timely, appropriately risk assessed resolution; Experience of working in partnership with Trade Unions towards shared goals; Experience in developing and delivering manager skills training / learning / coaching interventions on a range of HR related best practices / subjects.
    • Desirable criteria: Knowledge of NHS Terms and Conditions (Agenda for Change); Knowledge of NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system; Experience of Medical and Dental terms and conditions of employment; Experience of supporting managers and colleagues through organisational change.
