Mechanical Prototype Engineer

Mechanical Prototype Engineer Working for a start-up that has recently secured funding, you will be a key hire in the development of an innovative product, giving you a fantastic opportunity to learn and progress within the company while collaborating with incredibly bright and talented peers. Some key areas you will focus on will be: Develop, prototype and test opto-mechanical assemblies. Design, build and integrate sub-assemblies into system prototypes. Refine designs for reliability and manufacturability. The product integrates mechanical, electronics, software, optics, and fluidics elements, where you will focus on designing prototypes and building and testing them in the lab. The technology is based around sensors used for real-time environmental monitoring, with potential applications across a variety of industries and environments in the future. We are looking for someone with: A strong mechanical design appreciation with good 3D CAD skills Experience in the design of fixtures and jigs for prototyping Experience in optics or fluidics (highly desirable).A mix of design and practical lab-based skills.
