Job Description
Our client is seeking an Employment Associate or Senior Associate with 3β10 yearsβ post-qualification experience to join their award-winning employment practice. This is an excellent opportunity to become a key member of a high-performing team advising on a wide range of high-profile and complex employment matters across the UK and internationally.
Responsibilities
Contentious Employment
Manage a broad caseload of Employment Tribunal litigation, including:
- Discrimination
- Whistleblowing
- Unfair dismissal
- Contractual disputes
- Injunction-related matters
- Lead and support High Court litigation involving team moves, restrictive covenants, confidentiality, and injunction work.
- Draft pleadings, witness statements, settlement agreements, and litigation strategy documents.
- Prepare for and attend mediations, hearings, and trials.
Advisory & Corporate Support
Advise clients on a wide spectrum of employment issues, including:
- Employee relations
- Termination of employment
- Data protection
- Outsourcing and corporate transactions
- Confidentiality and protection of business interests
- Provide guidance on internal investigations, disciplinary processes, grievance matters, and whistleblowing concerns.
- Work closely with the corporate team on transactional support β conducting due diligence, drafting warranties and indemnities, and assisting with post-completion integration.
- Deliver client training, workshops, and thought-leadership content on emerging employment law developments.
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong client relationships across sectors such as financial services, technology, retail, energy, and professional services.
- Act as a trusted adviser, providing pragmatic, commercially focused solutions aligned with client objectives.
- Contribute to pitches, tender processes, and broader business development initiatives with Partners.
- Participate in sector groups, marketing activities, and thought-leadership campaigns.
About You
Essential
- Qualified Solicitor.
- Minimum of three yearsβ PQE in a recognised employment practice.
- Strong experience across both contentious and advisory employment work.
- Proven ability to manage high-value, complex litigation through to hearings.
- Solid understanding of TUPE, redundancy processes, employee relations, and corporate support matters.
Desirable
- Experience within a large national/international firm or top-tier boutique.
- Proven capability in advising HR teams, in-house counsel, and senior leadership.
- Experience managing cross-jurisdictional matters or international employment projects.
