The Cash and Banking Controller is responsible for ensuring the cash management of the properties is handled effectively and promptly, in accordance with Client requirements and RICS Client Monies regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all Cash and Banking services are delivered to a high standard and meet the service levels required by the Client;
- Monitor and manage the allocation of cash received, identify source funds, and ensure all sums are posted to the correct accounts within 24 hours;
- Resolve unidentifiable items and review/clear bank reconciliations;
- Make payments promptly, ensuring bank account balances are not overdrawn;
- Collaborate with surveyors, Clients, and team members;
- Manage cash and banking software and related outputs and inputs;
- Support contractual compliance, including meeting SLAs and KPIs on behalf of BNPPRE;
- Continuously improve processes for market-leading financial management in compliance with legislation;
- Work with management to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and control of daily tasks;
- Serve as the primary contact for Clients, surveyors, and relevant parties regarding cash and banking services;
- Ensure services are delivered per contractual agreements;
- Manage client monies with team members;
- Conduct necessary Quality Assurance reviews prior to issuance;
- Assist with internal and external audits of financial procedures and controls.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Working towards a recognized cash and banking or accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA) or qualified through experience;
- GCSEs including Maths and English.
Experience:
- Experience in cash allocation, source fund identification, posting to correct accounts within 24 hours, resolving unidentifiable items, reviewing/clearing bank reconciliations, and ensuring accounts are not overdrawn.
- Ability to deliver services per contract, manage client monies, conduct QA reviews, and assist with audits.
