Make a real difference in the lives of school-aged children with dysphagia! Are you a dynamic and experienced Speech and Language Therapist specialising in dysphagia? About the role: This rewarding role offers the chance to provide highly specialist assessment and management of dysphagia in school-aged children within mainstream and special schools, clinics, and patient homes. You will work closely with families, educational colleagues, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care. With additional opportunities to maintain knowledge and skills in working with pre-school children with speech, language and communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children and young people with dysphagia as well as maintaining skills and knowledge with working with children with SLCN.
  • Support parents, clients, and other professionals in all aspects of client management.
  • Liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide clinical supervision and line management to other SLTs.
  • Contribute to service development initiatives, including policies, procedures, and care pathways.
  • Deliver training to staff and families in various settings.
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience in paediatric dysphagia (RCSLT dysphagia competencies Level C or above).
  • Experience working with school-aged children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
