Make a real difference in the lives of school-aged children with dysphagia! Are you a dynamic and experienced Speech and Language Therapist specialising in dysphagia? Do you thrive in a collaborative and supportive environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team working with school-aged children across diverse settings.
About the role: This rewarding role offers the chance to provide highly specialist assessment and management of dysphagia in school-aged children within mainstream and special schools, clinics, and patient homes. You will work closely with families, educational colleagues, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care. With additional opportunities to maintain knowledge and skills in working with pre-school children with speech, language and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children and young people with dysphagia as well as maintaining skills and knowledge with working with children with SLCN.
- Support parents, clients, and other professionals in all aspects of client management.
- Liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide clinical supervision and line management to other SLTs.
- Contribute to service development initiatives, including policies, procedures, and care pathways.
- Deliver training to staff and families in various settings.
- Experience in paediatric dysphagia (RCSLT dysphagia competencies Level C or above).
- Experience working with school-aged children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
