Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support the preparation of financial statements (audited and unaudited) for joint ventures (JVs) and subsidiaries. This role will involve working under IFRS, UK GAAP (FRS 102 and FRS 101), and will require strong collaboration with stakeholders, regions, and the external audit team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial accounts. Key Responsibilities: Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements for joint ventures and subsidiaries under IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 102 and FRS 101), ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Timely Completion of Accounts: Manage the preparation of JV accounts in line with a fixed timetable, ensuring smooth and timely completion at all stages, including preparation, review, audit, approval, and filing. Audit Adjustments: Process audit adjustments following audit manager/partner reviews and update the statutory accounts as needed for any late regional adjustments. Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with regional teams to obtain the necessary information for the preparation of accounts. Provide support and guidance where required, reviewing submitted data for completeness and accuracy. Audit Coordination: Work closely with the external audit team to oversee the audit process, raise any issues, queries, or concerns, and ensure smooth collaboration throughout the process. Technical Accounting Insight (Optional): If applicable, research and provide insight into technical accounting areas, offering solutions where possible. Skills & Qualifications: Strong experience in financial statement preparation under IFRS and UK GAAP, specifically FRS 102 and FRS 101. Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA OR CIMA with likely 2+ years experience. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders across regions and teams. Experience with audit processes and handling audit adjustments. Strong communication skills to engage with both internal teams and external auditors.
