Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Team Leader - Underwriting Support to join our Insurance Operations team. This role will sit within our EMEA COO function. The Service Delivery team plays a vital role in supporting the various business lines within our Underwriting team based in our London, UK office whilst at the same time undertaking transformation activities to broaden and better control the services provided.

This exciting opportunity will allow the incumbent to play an integral part in strengthening the operational resilience of the services provided by the Operations function, whilst laying the foundations for a career in Insurance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Team Leadership: Leading and motivating your Underwriting Assistant team, fostering a service culture and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Performance Management: Monitoring team performance, setting goals, and providing feedback to ensure high productivity, quality, and control.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and provide development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Data Collection and Entry: Coordination and delivery of gathering, validating, and inputting data, which includes transposing policy information from various documents to pricing platforms, policy administration systems, or any other relevant systems.
  • Documentation Management: Oversight and delivery of preparing, organising, and maintaining policy documentation and underwriting files.
  • Process Coordination: Coordinating with various departments and outsourced providers to facilitate smooth workflow and timely processing as defined within Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Issue / Query resolution: Supporting effective service delivery, queries will be resolved within established timeframes.
  • Compliance Adherence: Ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed, with related controls completed.
  • Reporting: Input into the operational management dashboard in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Continuous Improvement: Working with other UAs in the Operations department to identify and document opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency.
