We are looking for a Warehouse Shift Operations Manager to join our M&S site in Milton Keynes. You’ll be responsible for managing the operational requirements within a fast-paced logistics environment, ensuring that the business surpasses customer expectations, efficiently and cost effectively, whilst also ensuring that this is a great place to work.

This is a full time, permanent position, where you’ll be working an ‘any 5 from 7’ shift pattern over an 8-week rota. The hours of work will be 22:00 – 06:00.

  • You’ll be paid a salary of up to £45,451 per annum, with an additional shift premium of £7,662 per annum.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Oversee the day to day running of the warehouse on your shift, you’ll lead, motivate and develop your team to achieve targets, whilst managing under / over capacity of work areas.
  • Lead on all people processes including welfare, performance, KPI management, T&A, coaching, recruitment & selection, appraisals and talent.
  • Pro-actively support the site and customer’s continuous improvement initiatives, acting as an advocate on site for cultural change.
  • With good understanding of health & safety you’ll strive to make sure all operational processes are fully compliant with our policies, while accurately identifying risks and escalating your findings.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • A proven track record at a similar level, within a complex, fast-paced warehouse environment (ideally food).
  • The ability to effectively lead, develop and manage a team, whilst identifying areas for development and recognising success.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, to support change management and continuous improvement on site and helping to implement change.
  • Be commercially aware with the ability to interpret operational data and a good knowledge of KPIs.
