With a roll of 1620, it is the South Island’s only independent school offering places from Pre-school to Year 13. The Principal of the Preparatory School is responsible for both the Pre-school and the Preparatory School (Years 1–8), which has a total student roll of 496. Founded in 1917 in the Presbyterian faith, with a rich history, today the College has developed a modern education approach that adapts quickly to current demands while remaining true to its founding values. This provides students with a balance of freedom and boundaries, enabling them to flourish in an ever-changing world.
