About The Opportunity
The Transport Planning & Mobility Solutions team at Jacobs is one of the most successful in Ireland and the UK, with a varied client base and strong pipeline of work, alongside supporting project teams across the globe. Our local team is involved in a range of exciting and innovative projects covering all elements of transport planning including traffic modelling, economic appraisal, active modes, public transport, traffic engineering, policy & strategy formation and business case development.

We are looking for Transport Planners/ Senior Transport Planners and Traffic Engineers to be based in our Dublin, Cork or Belfast offices. You will work on local projects whilst also interacting with our colleagues across Ireland, the UK and globally. This role will allow you to pursue relevant business and technical training to support your career development as well as the freedom to grow your network and develop innovative solutions to chase new opportunities.
A full-time working week with Jacobs is 40 hours - consideration will be given to anyone seeking reduced or compressed hours. This role enjoys a hybrid working pattern but does require 2 days per week based on site at one of the Jacobs locations highlighted above. We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- To be degree qualified in a relevant discipline (or equivalent)
- Experience in the Transport Planning field with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high profile transport projects
- Achieved or working towards Chartered status or other relevant professional qualification e.g. Engineers Ireland, CIHT, TPP or CENG
- To be a creative, solution-oriented individual who considers multiple perspectives to identify different solutions
- A desire to develop your technical skills and the ability to work independently in the field of Transport Planning
- Experience in the Transport Planning field with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high profile transport projects, particularly in an urban environment - active travel, cycle networks, mass transit and bus infrastructure
- To be able to manage tasks using appropriate program, budget and quality controls
- Flexibility to manage a varied workload, assist with business opportunities and embrace new technologies, product solutions and the future evolution of the industry
