Location: Rugby, UK

Type: Permanent

Salary: GBP42,000 - GBP48,000 depending on experience

Hours: 48 hours a week, all shifts are 12-hour shifts (day shifts and night shifts, 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am)

This is a safety-critical role where you will ensure the safe and efficient movement of trains, handle incidents, and support the performance of operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring safe and timely train movement
  • Monitor and manage real-time services, responding quickly to any disruptions or incidents
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with train crews, depots, and key stakeholders
  • Handle and report accidents, incidents, and environmental issues in line with procedures
  • Support locomotive and crew management, including shift changes and sickness cover
  • Log operational data, delays, fuel levels, and train locations accurately
  • Produce performance and delay reports
  • Develop and implement service recovery plans when necessary
  • Ensure effective shift handovers and maintain a high standard within the control room
  • Assist with short-term staffing issues and escalation processes
  • Liaise with maintenance teams to address locomotive performance concerns
