We’re recruiting on behalf of a specialist fire protection contractor delivering high-quality passive fire solutions across healthcare, education, heritage, and commercial sectors.
With a strong pipeline of work in the London and Home Counties area, they’re looking to appoint a Project Manager with robust operational experience to lead the successful delivery of live passive fire contracts — particularly fire door installations — across multiple sites.
This is an operations-heavy role with a firm focus on quality assurance, compliance, and contract performance. The successful candidate will ideally have a fire door background and be confident overseeing projects to BM TRADA (or equivalent) standards.
The Role:
- Oversee the day-to-day delivery of 4 to 8 live projects simultaneously, each ranging in value from £100K to £600K
- Manage works across a range of settings, including NHS buildings, schools, commercial premises, and heritage assets
- Oversee the installation, inspection and snagging of fire doors and associated works, including final decorating
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification and within budget, with regular monitoring of cost performance
- Maintain robust quality control across all fire door types: timber, composite, steel, and specialist/anti-ligature doors
- Prepare for and support third-party accreditation inspections and door final door sign off under BM TRADA scheme
- Liaise with the client throughout project delivery for updates and issue resolution (with support from a dedicated Account Manager)
- Input compliance data via Onetrace and ensure accurate record-keeping for audit and client reporting purposes
- Conduct and document site audits, toolbox talks and site meetings
- Take responsibility for health & safety compliance on site, including RAMS and site documentation
- Support with procurement of materials, subcontractor coordination, and progress reporting to senior management
About You:
- Proven track record in delivering passive fire projects, ideally with a specialism in fire door installation
- Comfortable managing multiple concurrent sites and operational teams
- Excellent project management skills and experience, ideally backed up by a PRINCE2® qualification
- BM TRADA experience (or similar third-party certification) is highly desirable
- Tech-driven – able to confidently use apps such as Onetrace and other reporting tools
- Commercially aware, with a good understanding of cost control, productivity, and programme management
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly around quality and compliance documentation
- A clear communicator who can lead teams and represent the business professionally on site
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and reputable contractor at the forefront of passive fire protection. If you’re ready to take ownership of key projects and play a hands-on role in delivery and quality assurance, we’d love to hear from you.
