Freight Investor Services (FIS) is a leading global brokerage of freight and commodities. We are the world’s largest broker on dry freight futures, with a strong presence across bulk commodities, metals, and energy markets. We pioneered trading in the cleared market on iron ore and coking coal futures, and maintain a strong position in broking steel futures on all exchanges, as well as fuel oil, base metals, fertilisers, and tanker freight. Our innovative ethos drives us to be first movers in new markets, such as cobalt and air freight futures. We provide brokerage services, data via our FIS Live app, and educational support for new market entrants.

Our network extends through offices in London, New York, Houston, Dubai, Mumbai, Athens, Copenhagen, Geneva, Singapore, and Shanghai, offering comprehensive brokerage, trade execution, market intelligence, and physical shipping services. Our expertise in credit and counterparty risk management ensures our clients can trade confidently.

We are expanding our team with increased data services offerings. We seek a senior team member to collaborate with our data and IT teams on projects, system maintenance, and improvements. This role is based in London but is part of an international organization with offices in 9 countries.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and lead the Data Services Team in daily activities under the guidance of the Head of Data.
  • Mentor junior staff and promote leadership within the team.
  • Manage data quality and access to subscription services.
  • Monitor and validate data inputs and service levels daily.
  • Present analytics data to internal stakeholders.
  • Review subscription services periodically.
  • Test, maintain, develop, and support core data services and components.
  • Gather and document project requirements.
  • Manage document libraries to prevent duplication and data sprawl.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve operational and application efficiencies.
  • Enhance client engagement and professionalism standards.
  • Support application testing and liaise with various teams.
  • Review internal and external applications, creating action plans from findings.
  • Assist IT with software, network, hardware, security, and equipment tasks.
  • Adhere to internal policies and regulations, exercising integrity and due diligence.
  • Complete mandatory training and perform other duties as required.
